Together Let’s Take Control of PCOS with #PCOSPower

pcospower

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common conditions affecting women of reproductive age. It is thought to affect around 1 in 10 women, yet it may affect many more due to the number of women who remain undiagnosed.

Despite this, and to our surprise, only 29% of the 17,739 UK women (aged 25-44) questioned as part of our #cyclesavvy survey actually knew what PCOS was.

In support of PCOS awareness month, we have launched #PCOSPower, an educational health awareness campaign to help women understand more about the condition and how it can be managed.  We want women to receive an accurate and timely diagnosis and to be able to make their own informed decisions about their PCOS and health. We want to empower women to take control of their PCOS and prevent long-term complications.

We felt very frustrated by the lack of attention that PCOS receives and by the misconception that many women who have PCOS believe that they will never conceive. To help address this, we enlisted the help of our Fertility Friend, Kate Davies, Fertility Nurse Consultant to develop a comprehensive video series to help you learn more about PCOS and the positive steps you can take to feel the #PCOSPower.
