Don't Miss Fertility Fest 2018-Dr Fertility Will Be There!

Posted by Lucy Buckley on

We had a fantastic time at The Fertility Show in our home city of Manchester in March. One of the highlights of the show was meeting up with our #FertilityFriend Jessica Hepburn. Jessica never ceases to amaze, inspire and enthuse us.

Led by arts producers and former IVF patients, Jessica Hepburn and Gabby Vautier, the festival returns for its second edition at the Bush Theatre in London between 8 - 13 May 2018. Over six days, 150 world-class artists and fertility experts will share the stage in a unique programme of discussion, debate, support and solidarity about what it means to make (and sometimes not make) babies in the modern world.Let us tell you more about Jessica’s current work, Fertility Fest. Fertility Fest is the world’s first arts festival dedicated to fertility, infertility, modern families and the science of making babies.

Highlights of this year’s festival include:

Izzy Judd, the wife of McFly’s Harry Judd and author of the bestselling memoir Dare To Dream will be discussing how the couple’s fairytale life started to fall apart when they struggled to conceive and what it feels like to make a baby with a doctor in your bedroom!

Jessica Hepburn, the founder of Fertility Fest and author of The Pursuit of Motherhood who battled through eleven rounds of unsuccessful IVF, will be talking about her new book 21 Miles: Swimming in Search of the Meaning of Motherhood, and her quest to answer the question ‘Does Motherhood Make You Happy?'

In the year of the 40th anniversary of IVF, photographer Gina Glover will be talking about her project Life In Glass for which she was given unprecedented access to the archive of Professor Robert Edwards, the Nobel prize-winning founder of IVF.

Saskia Boujo the creator of the merchandise brand 'IVF and Proud' will be hosting ‘Life and Lunch’, a parent and babies club with a difference: only IVF babies allowed!

There will also be a range of sessions that focus on the still rarely-discussed male experience of fertility and infertility, featuring artists that include award-winning playwright Gareth Farr (The Quiet House), film-maker Jack King (The Crossing) and Photographer Aaron Deemer (Please Make Yourself Uncomfortable).

Tickets to the festival range from £10 - £35, but there is also a wide selection of FREE events find out more at - don’t miss it! Dr Fertility will be there, and you’ll be amongst fertility friends who understand and care.
